A Scrap addict for sure!

OMG! I spent all day yesterday scrapping. Amanda came over to scrap with me and it was so much fun! I managed to scrap 15 pages while she was here and I did 5 more before calling it a night. I hadn't scrapped in almost two weeks to I had a LOT of creative energy to let loose. lol

I did all this and manged to use up a lot of great kits and goodies I've recieved from swaps and friends, to show them at their hard work and thoughtfullness was not forgotten (some kits I have had for 3 years waiting for the right pictures to match up with them!)

Here are some thumbnail samples... if you are interested to se them full size you can visit my facebook scrappy album. :)

Needless to say I had a lot of fun....I am sooo very tired today though, yet all I can think about is "What to scrap next?" LOL
Hope you all have fantastic day, and even better I hope I've inspired some of you to get a lil scrappin' done as well :)

I am so excited and motivated!

Like most people every year I resolve to shed those extra pounds and become a healthier person in the new year, and again like most people I fail miserably. Well I have found a website that has given me hope and has really motivated me to give it a real try this year.

The website is called Calorie Count ( http://caloriecount.about.com/ ) and it is just awesome! You can track everything you eat, and everything you do... it'll tell you how many calories you've eaten and how many you've burned.... it does all the hard work of figuring and writing things down for you! Pretty cool eh?

My favorite part of this website are the tools, the BMI calculator, and the Calorie target just to name a few. The calorie target is cool, you just put in your weight, and your goal weight and it figures out a reasonable time frame and what your calorie intake should be and even gives you suggestions on what activities to do to help burn those calories. Mine gave me a date of March 10th 2010 which I thought a little more than a year was amazing considering I want to lose 90lbs!!! That's when I got excited and said, "I really want to do this!"

So far I've just been counting the calories and getting used to what my intake is..... suprisingly it's not that much higher than my goal intake, so really I just need to step up the exercise plan (which it's starting me off at 13 minutes of walking or 9 minutes of cycling a day... c'mon who can't fit that in right?), and choose some better for me foods and I should be rockin' it! They've got a good set of fourms set up too, I found a lot of great tips on how to get over my vegetable phobia! haha

So anyone who is like me, and has been trying to lose weight for years, practically my whole life and has done nothing but fail, KEEP TRYING! You never know when you are going to find that something, that's gona motivate you like you've never been motivated before!

Good Luck!

Just playin' around

I had been working all day long at decluttering and organizing my scrap room most of the day... it looked so inviting when I was done that I just had to sit down and make something! LOL So I decided to make a few cards that I needed to make for a friend.

I went through all my scrap paper (I will only ever use scrap paper on cards, I need to use up all those lil pieces somewhere) and here is what I came up with.

It felt good to get some work done for a change :)

I inked all the edges with Tim Holtz Distress inks, again paper was all scraps (well besides the base), ribbon, primas and brads for embellishments (I added stickles to the pink brads to bling them up a bit). The happy birthday is from a clear stamp set by Imaginesence, and the Just a lil Note is a mounted Studio G stamp.

Now it is 10:30pm, I'm not so much tired but I have a pounding headache! Ugghh, so needless to say I am done for tonight. I hope I can get so play time in tomorrow too!

Have a nice night!

a little catching up to do....

A few things to catch up on since my last post....

Game night was a blast! It was fun to get out of the house and visit with friends, and play a a board game.... nothing like a good old fashion night of good clean fun :) We decided on the classic game of Monopoly and for the first time ever I WON! YAY me! The kids had a good time playing with toys and watching movies until we were done, they were pretty good considering it was pretty late when we finally finished. Still unsure of the next time we will get together but I think we will be playing "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?".... :)

Other than that there has been a lot of the same ol same ol going on.....Xavier is very excited to be back in school, Rob has been a little lonely without Zay around all day but he makes due with his own ideas, toys and games. Preston has been getting a lot more freedom to run around the house instead of just his room / livingroom now that things are clean and mostly baby proofed :)

I have had time during the day to clean and organize my scrap space. Usually the noise level of the children make it hard to do much of anything, but now that Zays back in school and we are back to our normal routines I have reclaimed my 'me time' back. haha I even scrapped a little bit last night which was the first time in over a week! It was for a special secret challenge so once I get the ok that I am allowed to post it to the public I will the first chance I get......hehe

We've been dealing with a lot of winter storms lately, a lot of snow last week, a few clear days and now a lot of snow/freezing rain...... oh boy what a mess! and NOISEY! Oh my, the snowplows and tractors, with flashy lights and *beep beep* back up sounds really made it difficult to get any sleep last night! It's back to snowing now so I'm sure there will be more cleanup work to do again later. :S

So that's about it for getting you all up to date with the happening in my life, my husbad is almost done work for the first half of his shift, so I need to get up and figure out what we are going to have for supper tonight and get started on that. I swear one of these days I'll finally be able to use this blog for what I intended it for and that's showing you some of my creations! hehe

Bye for now!

Uggh, already off to a bad start........

Look at me....hoping to keep a current blog preferabally a daily one and here I went and missed day 2! Oh well, there wasn't much to report, this is the week-end after all. Ric has Fridays - Sundays off from work so mostly it's clean and get him to help with odd jobs, and play games online together, movies, tv, run errands etc etc etc Theres never really a lot of time for me to have to myself to be creative or have meaningful thoughts at least.

Tomorrow night is over first game night with friends, that should be fun, and then Monday my oldest son goes back to school.....YAY!!! I love him, but man has it been a long winter vacation! Him home too often with his brothers just makes for one BIG whine fest! :S I'm hoping Monday may be a day of scrapping with a friend but we'll see what the weather has in store for us first.

Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Year and Welcome to 2009 everyone!!! I hope this year is off to a good start for all, and if it started rough, I hope it only gets easier/better from here on out!

My Family and I had a fun time waiting for the new year. A few friends came over and the boys played board games with them most of the evening. Then the guys chatted while they watched tv while the gals scrapped the night away! :) We were also hit with a HUGE snow storm that started last night after supper and the last time I checked it was still going on out there.... BIGGEST storm of the year I tell ya! Then again there isn't anything else to compare it to yet so I guess it kinda has to be...LOL So needless to say our company left early so not to be snowed in. Xavier, Ric and I watched the local celebrations on tv and did the count down to midnight, watched the fireworks then sent Xavier to bed (he's 6)... poor Robbie really wanted to see everything but he fell asleep 10 minutes before midnight and once he falls sleep there is just NO waking him up! Shortly after midnight Ric went to bed, and I stayed up a little longer. To me New Years just isn't New Years without watching the Ball Drop in Times Square NYC! So I wanted, played a game on the computer for a bit then finally went to bed a 2am. Not your usual 'party' hoopla for my New Years, but eventful and fun just the same.

On to the resolutions... well like everyone I want to try to be a healthier person. I'm not going to set a big weightloss goal and set myself up for failure.... I just want to take those baby steps to better my habits :) I also have LOTS of Scrapping goals... from organizing, to the amount I do, to the sortting of albums, I've got something I'd like to get done for it all. I think most of it will be fairly easy to do and continue to do except maybe the cut back on the shopping thing....LOL Lastly, my blog. I started one in 2008 but never kept up with it..... in reality I have always been horrible at keep a diary.... I really want to have and keep a functional and current blog so I started this one new today and hop to give you a lil something to read each day.... or at those busy times at least once a week. :)

So I will sign off for today, by saying I wish you all a happy and safe and healthy year ahead, and I hope you come back to read and visit me soon. :)
