Finally some things to post!!!

Hi to all!!! I hope you are all having good days and have found some time to be creative. I have slowly been finding my groove and slowly completing projects I had long ago started. Gonna make a few posts here today just to break things up a little bit.... today was all about alterations.
Of all these projects not one of them was started today..... no sir, they were all started months ago and have been waiting for me to brave putting up with the cricut long enough to cut my words and images. I love my cricut, but sometimes it's so much of a pain in the butt that I dred using it, but that was NOT the case today :)

The following I have made to put in my Scrap Room.... The Cherry Pit :) Another wooden block sign, with an inspirational scrappy saying. This one is a bit different than ones I have made previously as I used a few different paint colors instead of sticking with all black. I wasn't sure at first how it was going to turn out, but in the end I really like the look.
This is a baking sheet I altered in to a maganetic board. Titled for the Cherry Pit, and using the same coordinating papers as the block sign. The maganets I made by cutting the tails off of brads and gluing on a maganet in their place, this was pretty fun and simple to make.
This sign I made to put in my kitchen to help tie in all the colors I've got going on in there. I painted a 12x15 canvas in the color blocking you see here, then used my Cricut along with Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) to cut my words and the mugs. I used multiple fonts as I like the look of mixed media. Such a fun and inexpensive project to make.
Lastly I finished up these signs I had started to make to hang in my bathroom. Not the most traditional saying to use for home decor, but it tickles my sense of humor, besides I really wanted something that would "match" these cute toilet paper rolls. :) I really like how these turned out and how they look hanging in the bathroom.

As far as finished altered projects this is it for now. I have one more thing in the works but it is going to take a bit more time to complete. I hope to get it done and posted soon as I cannot wait to show it off!!!! ;)

Ok, off to set up my next entry, just a few pages and cards I have made lately.

Happy Scrappin'

I'm still HERE!

I'm still here, I haven't forgotten about my blog yet! haha I'm slowly picking away at a few ideas and getting some things done in the Cherry Pit. Some creative stuff and some organization stuff... both of which are helping me get back in to my creative groove!

It appears as though spring has sprung early (gosh I hope I didn't just jinx all this nice weather we've been having) and with that the boys and myself have been taking every opportunity we can get to get out there and enjoy our days not being cooped up in the house. As you can imagine I've been out there with them being their own personal version of the paparazzi and I have been getting lots of new stuff to get scrappy with! I tell ya, it is helping a LOT with making me want to be creative, I can't help it! New pictures get me excited!

Here are just a few things that w have done this past week.

Took the boys to the park to play....

Went to the Prim Point Lightstation.

My Nephew Trenton turned 11!

Xavier tried on Uncle Keith's old Football gear and that was pretty amusing....LOL

Preston outside riding his trike :) He loves that thing!

... and Robbie decided he wanted to try out the Sponge Bob Roller Sneakers out. :)

This week-end I am going away, hopefully lots more photos ops come from my days. I am also excited that I will be able to pick up my scrappy stuff I left at my friends house so I can bring it all home and finish these things I have been working on. I left them behind thinking, "I'm not using the stuff, why lug it back and forth?" Well that logic bit me in the butt didn't it?! LOL As soon as I get back I'll be able to finish things up that I've been working on and I'll then have some new things to post for you all to see.... woohoo!

So, today I am back at the organization of stuff.... maybe a bit of de-cluttering too, who knows. I hope you all are taking some time to be creative! Until next time.......

Happy Scrappin'!

Let's Blow The Dust Off This Blog!

Hello my readers (if there are any of you left out there!), it's the bad bad blogger trying to make another attempt to breath some life back in to this blog. What can I say, I've been inspired and I feel like writing so what the heck right?

Let's see, what has happened in the past 3 months since my last post....... umm, 2010 is here! LOL It's not all that much different from 2009 so far. Well, maybe it is a little different. I did decide to leave my boyfriend after being with him for 10 years. It was NOT an easy decision, especially with the kids involved, but things had been bad for a really long time and a change was definitely needed. It's been an ok experience so far, we've been working together to make it as easy on everyone as possible.

Let's see what is going on with me.... oh I lost 10lbs so far this year! It doesn't seem like much over 3 months, but I'm pretty excited, and now that it seems like spring is on it's way and it is warmer outside I'll be able to get out there and do some walking and shed more faster! WOOHOO! I'm not following any fad diets, trust me, in my life time I've tried them all and they just don't work for me! I'm doing this the old fashion way, counting my calorie intake, changing my eating habits by eating more good for me stuff and less bad. It's been working out ok, and I feel a heck of a lot better too! I just hope I can keep it up and go the distance with it this time. :)

Ok, kid update.... Preston is still a barrel of monkeys, he gets more funny by the day and smart too!!! Robbie is still a sweet lil smart ass, soon we will be registering him for school in the fall! I don't know were the time went, but in two weeks he's going to be 5! WOW! Xavier is doing well in school, just brought home his report card yesterday, mostly straight A's with a few B's thrown in there; one of which I am arguing only because there is no explanation as to what he is and is not doing... how can he improove if he doesn't know what is wrong? I dunno, we'll see what happens there. I think he has decided to try baseball this spring instead of soccer, we'll see about that too, first I wanna see if he can even throw or catch a ball hahaha Oh, and he just recently turned 8! I know, I still can't believe I have an 8 year old either!

As far as my craftiness goes it hasn't been going much at all this winter. So discouraging since the winter is usually my time to catch up on the previous years scrapping. I have been more in to making things to put around the home. I made a few family signs as Christmas gifts for some family members and then decided I should probably make some things for myself too rather than always just giving my creations away. LOL I'll be posting pictures of these creations soon... maybe even as soon as tonight, who knows, but I promise they will be posted! For now, I need to finish up a little bit of housework I started so I can spend the rest of the afternoon being crafty!!!

Happy Scrappin' My Friends.... enjoy this beautiful spring-like day!

Where has the year gone??

Seriously!?! I know I'm not that great at updating my blog but it does NOT seem like it's been 6 months since my last entry! lol

Lots has happened since then, my baby boy turned 2! We had the most horrible summer weather ever (I'm still waiting to get a summer, somehow with Christmas around the corner and our days being below zero I don't think that will happen this year! lol). My oldest boy had a great soccer season (besides all the rained out games and practices) my boyfriend got a new job, we've moved, and I got to take my dream trip to NYC!!! Yahoo!

Now December is here and I am in full swing with the Christmas spirit and all the activities that go with it!!! The interior of the house is all decorated, tomorrow we get to go pick out our Christmas tree and I have been busy making some handmade gifts for my family. Oh and how can I forget to mention how extremely excited I am to follow along with Tim Holtz & this years 12 Tags of Christmas! I swear I wake up and check it out before I even think of my morning coffee I'm so excited. hehe Our calendar is filling up pretty quick with parties, events, and holiday preparations and I am so excited!!! It truly is the most wonderful time of year, full of lots of warm and fuzzy feelings!

Today I have my niece and nephew over for a visit, so I am going to hang with them while they are here, and hopefully I'll be back real soon with some more updates and some sneak peeks of what I am (and have been) working on!!

As always, Happy Scrappin'

Benifit of babysitting

This week-end we decided to hop in the van and drive to visit with family, since it was on the spur of the moment I didn't have time to think out any projects I could easily bring with me so I just made sure to pack up the laptop and away we went. When we got here my brother and sister-in-law needed a spur of the moment baby sitter.... how conveinent eh? I was all for it because it's been a while since I've spent a lot of time with the kids and honestly we had no other plans anyway, so I was pretty excited. They had a blast playing together all day, and once the night came and it got quiet I had some time to pull out the lap top and play with Candy's Treats new "June Collab" kit and came up with these two layouts.

I like the brown one so much, I'm thinking I might make a sketch for it before all is said and done.

This is a super cute and fun kit to play with.... I'm so glad I had some beachy pics to work with, but really theres so much more included in this kit that you could make pages of any theme. :)

Anyway, I better get back to these kids... one is asleep already, the big boys are still playing video gams but the baby is fighting going down so I need to try a lil harder with him. He's used to total dark and quiet when he is put to bed, so this place and the extra people are really throwing him for a loop.... and it's already 3 hours past his bedtime!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week-end!

I finally have a name here!

After a lot of thinking I have finally come up with a REAL name for my blog. To anyone who visits my blog you will remember this blog as being RJXRP designs. The RJXRP name was made by my boyfriend and I as a "Family Creations" name. Each letter in the name was the first letter of every name in our family. Ric, Jenn, Xavier, Robbie, Preston. Although I loved that idea, I knew I wanted a real name for my blog and Creations from the Cherry Pit is what I have come up with. :)

I am a collector of all things with Cherries on them; jewelery, housewares, decor, stationary, all things scrappy.... you name it, I probably have it with Cherries on it. My favorite candy flavour is, you guessed it Cherry....but here's something funny, I can't stand to eat the real fruit... LOL I grew up with 3 larger cherry trees right outside my bedroom window, the blossoms were so beautiful every year and it was fun to watch the cherries grow and hang in the trees as if it were a pretty picture hanging on my wall instead of me just looking out my window. The town where I grew up has a festival every year called Cherry Carnival, so as you can see they've been a big part of my life for a very long time.

All my scrapping friends know of my love of cherries and I have received a lot of wonderful gifts over the years from them. They always say they can't pass by something with Cherries on it without thinking of me, and to me that's the best part of the gift :) So, because of my obsession, I did in fact name my Scrap room the "Cherry Pit", how suiting eh? so THAT is where the blog name came from.... it was kind of a "duh Jenn" moment, after all I create projects in my scrap room.... I post them for you to see.... so wholla, creations from the Cherry Pit was born. :)

Here are a few pics of the Cherry Pit:
So there you go, a lil' history lesson for you today on me and my love for that pretty lil' red fruit :) I spent most of last night making my new topper and then played around this afternoon and made a matching blinkie for my blog too, feel free to grab it and put it on your own blog if you want.

Have a Great Week-end!

Lil Gifty Creations

Well, yesterday I was detrmined to play with paper and I had a couple of bookmarks to make for a friend so decided to make those and a few extras while I was at it.

I forget the original website I got this idea from (I saw it over a year ago but still had the file she shared on my PC to cut it with my Cricut.... I'll update when I locate the proper blog)... anyway, these lil corner bookmarks are so cute and so very easy to make. The hardest part to making them is trying NOT to use bulky embellishments so they can lie as flat as possible.
So my best friend is going out west for the summer and asked for a few of these lil guys before she left, so I used her favorite Pink/Brown/Orange color combo and came up with these...

Then I just kept going and made these ones as a end of the year Teachers Gift for my sons Teacher.
...and this one was one I originally made for my sons Teacher but thought it looked too childish so I put an 'X' on it and gave it to my son...hehe
That was the first half of my day. LOL Then for the rest of the day, most of the night and most of this afternoon I spent creating this Paper bag album (PBA). I caught up with an old friend from high school that I haven't seen pretty much since I graduated 9 years ago, she has two beautiful little girls and mentioned she wished she had time to pick up Scrapbooking, so I instantly thought to myself I'm going to make her a PBA! ....and the rest of the story lies in the photos I guess :P

I did have a lot of fun making this album because I RARELY get the chance to play with girly papers, colors and embllishments, so I am very happy with the outcome of this project considering I had no idea what to do! LOL
So I hope you like what you have seen and hopedully with any luck it inspires you to start a few projects of your own. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrappin'!
